"Cambodia believes the Belt and Road Initiative is a positive and new path for country-to-country relations," said the minister.

"China is serious about further opening up and building stronger economic and trade ties with Africa," said Mark Greeven, professor of strategy and innovation at the Switzerland-based International Institute for Management Development. "While a lot of countries, especially the developed economies, are mainly focused on other parts like Europe and the United States, China seeks opportunities in emerging nations in Africa, something that will help Africa's inclusion in global trade routes."

"China has signed 18 regional trade agreements involving 64 trading partners. But many companies have said they haven't made full use of the FTAs simply because they do not understand whether their goods are eligible for preferential tax rates," said Shang Yuying, director of the Shanghai Commerce Commission.

"China is on par with global leading powers in terms of voice, image and semantics recognition. Developing AI-enabled robots is a core path (for us) to leap from a follower to a leader in the sector," Xin said at the conference.

"China and Africa are a community of shared future that pursues win-win cooperation. Unity and cooperation with African countries is an important basis of China's foreign policy," Wang said, recalling the success of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in Beijing not long ago.
